I know every October, I have approximately two weeks to get a flu shot, or I will be sick ALL WINTER! This year I did not get my shot, and sure as shit, I’ve had the flu two times since October. I am sure my uncontrolled diet through September didn’t help either. So, in efforts to “reset,” I decided to do a juice cleanse.
I usually do two cleanses a year, one around February, and again mid-summer, to flush out toxins, rid the body of mucus buildup, or any inflammation. I especially love this cleanse because it is an excellent way to de-bloat and get some of the best sleep!!
I would suggest any beginners to start with six juices per day for only 1-3 days. I have been juicing for about six years, so I do about six days per cleanse. This month, I did only juice for three days, then slowly incorporated plant-based meals. On day 4, I started incorporating fresh fruit with my first morning juice, a must-continue kind of thing! It’s essential to eat your fruit separate from most other things, so the body digests them all correctly. Days 5&6 I added more meals and snacks, easing my body back into solid foods :
- Day 1 – 3: Six Juices, No Meals
- Day 4: Four Juices, One Snack, One Meal
- Day 5: Three Juices, Two Snacks, One Meal
- Day 6: Two Juices, Two Snack, Two Meals
(I am sure this goes without saying that all snacks are fruits, veggies, or nuts!!)
The main greens in this cleanse kale, spinach, and swiss chard provide the highly coveted vitamin K, as well as iron, vitamin C, and plenty of antioxidants, fighting against blood clots, asthma, and high blood sugar. Adding in amazing fruits like apples, lemons, and pineapples, increases your fiber and Vitamin C intake, aiding with heart health, diabetes, and digestion. Carrots, celery, beets, and ginger also add fiber while fighting inflammation and high cholesterol.

The Tribal Cleanse aims to fight bloat and inflammation, remove toxins, and boost energy. I will admit there is A LOT of energy that goes into the making of the juices, but it is very much worth it. Yes, the first few days, I was hungry AF, but it’s manageable with waters and the right mindset. Do this for you, because you want to feel good. I won’t stand by my recipe as a weight-loss tool, but I will say this:
The sleep during and after the cleanse was the best in months. I wake up without the drag and on time, if not earlier than my alarm!! I feel lighter, both physically and cognitively. I would also like to point out if you open your mind and heart to it, there is a spiritual component to the act of cleansing. I would even go so far as to suggest an excellent smudge or reiki session halfway through your cleanse.
