You Made It!!

I’ve learned that living is not the same as making a life.

— Maya Angelou.

Welcome! Welcome! Welcome!!

Hi there, Alexxis here! I am tremendously excited to start this blog and share my life with you! It’s my first blog, so be kind in the comments.

As some of you know, I recently went through some massive life changes! From moving to New York City alone, rupturing my achilles tendon, to losing my finance job and going ALL IN on me. It’s been a ride the past 4+ years, but I am ready to share with you my experiences. I hope that the stories I have can resonate with others so to create a supportive community of authenticity and creativity.

I like to consider myself a former athlete/retired financial intelligence officer turned Wandering Wellness Warrior, focusing on health and wellness, spirituality, and adventures! Each week I will share or highlight recipes, workouts, travel tips or stories, meditation tips, crystal/stone descriptions, and so much more! I am no expert on the topics but more an explorer of roads less traveled.

If you’re looking for products, shopping advice, fashion know-hows, or trendy gossip, this page ain’t fo’ yo ass. Also, if you don’t like bad words, you can kick rocks too. Let’s make a pact: I will be real, honest, and authentic; you will help build a supportive, creative community where we ALL FEEL SAFE. Deal?

As Tribe Members, we accept all life is, in and of itself, most sacred. We strive to be spiritually balanced and authentic in all we do, remain open and willing to love and spread kindness to all we encounter. Simply, if you mean, you ain’t on da team. Moon Bathing

When I started telling people I Moon Bathe, I received ALL the looks. After the looks came the questions, WHat? When? Why? How? So I decided why not share it all here, well everything I know. So here ya go!!

What is this Moon bathing thing?

Moon Bathing, it’s pretty simple. You’ve been Sun Bathin before right?!…. Well, it’s like that, except with the moon! Go outside, absorb the moon’s rays, maybe do a little dance.

It started way back in the day, and I’m talking like waaayyyy before NKOTB. Im talking ancient India, China, and Egypt, even the Celtics and pagans! Look at that, Community!!! Tradition typically involved meditation, chanting, and drinking water that is bathed in moonlight, dancing, and music.

Who can do it?

Here’s the thing, per spiritual gurus, men bathing in the moon shouldn’t happen too frequently. I’m pretty sure that doesn’t mean you all can’t be educated on it or try it once in a blue moon….pun intended. Ladies, do it monthly and watch the benefits flourish!!

Okay, but where and how do you moon bathe?

I prefer the beach, but backyards, a forest, or a rooftop would work just as well. Find a place where you have the least amount of distractions. Your moon bath could be as simple as a walk in the park or around the neighborhood. or it could be a full-fledged party and feast under the stars and moon! There is no time limit on this type of bathing, so feel free to just soak it all up.

For my moon bath, I find a mood-setting playlist full of binaural beats, ethereal voices, and encouraging sounds. I also make sure to take at least 1 jar of water, a book or journal, my favorite stones or ones that will aid in my manifestations for the month, and of course a towel. I use my journal to log what I want to achieve for the upcoming month, I use music to dance off and shed what no longer serves me, and I use the jarred water to attract what I cannot see for myself.

What are the benefits?

The moon’s energy can be super beneficial, with studies citing exposure to the cooling lunar energy calms and regulates metabolism and can be valuable in the fight against hypertension and other inflammatory diseases.

Spending time outside with the moon triggers melatonin, which promotes relaxation and also boosts vitamin D. Also, for the ladies: it is believed to regulate menstrual cycles, which can aid in fertility.

When can you Moon bathe?

The moon cycle is approximately 28 days, so pick a day? For reference, the new moon typically symbolizes new beginnings, so maybe focus on reflection, setting new intentions and clearing mental space. The full moon represents celebration and gratitude. Try journaling about your wins and accomplishments for the month.

August Produce List

August is bound to be hotter than July, which means if we are really trying to be outside for another month, we have to fuel ourselves properly. We are all adults, so I hope you are staying hydrated! If not, I’ll tell you again, Drink your water, please!!

Luckily, August produce is full of fruits and veggies that aid in hydration, with most containing over 80% water including cucumbers, cauliflower, cantelope, and mangoes. Add a few fresh fruit snacks to your routine this month to stay ahead of the heat. Dont forget to check out my Watermelon Strawberry refresher recipe for a cool treat!

What are you making this month?

Fruits and Veggies for July

It’s July, and OMG it brought the HEAT!!! Heatwaves everywhere have me praying you all are staying hydrated through water intake as well as fruits and veggies. It’s watermelon season, take full advantage! Through a few chunks in the freezer if you’re feeling frisky!!

July means more beach time, more travel, more time with those we love and cherish. Especially since we were robbed of it last year. I won’t be one to tell you to stay away from your fave dishes this summer because I am sure you missed them dearly. just be mindful of your proportions fam! But if you are interested in trying new recipes, here’s what I am thinking for this month:

Stay tuned for Summer recipes like:

  • Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Balls
  • Coconut Raspberry Squares

Avocado Protein Pudding

If I had to pick a fave KarJenner it would be Kourtney. TBH, she’s been my girl crush for years! She is a health and wellness leader, and well, I semi-religiously follow her brand. When I heard about her Avocado Smoothie, I had to try it. Avocado, another fave, is such a great fruit to add to your diet.

Avocados are fruits, google it.

They are full of fats, minerals, and vitamins. These fats not only help you to absorb things like vitamins and minerals, but they also help keep you full longer! Avocados help with healthy hearts, digestion, hair, and skin, and help to lower the risk of depression and certain cancers.

Kourtney’s version is good but I had to put my twist on it
